Could we call Ozzie designer Lukas Vincent’s journey a bit of a fashion fairytale? Not many people can say that just a few months after launching their brand, in his case, slouchy menswear brand Ex Infinitas, that they would themselves be winning the 2016 Australian final of the International Woolmark Prize. But Lukas did, starting a journey that would see him him create a new range presented alongside other international Woolmark finalists, including Cottweiler and Faustine Steinmetz at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris last January. Not bad, but it’s been topped off by Browns’ announcement that they will be stocking his newest, and exclusive to the London boutique, SS17 collection. Inspired by Seventies surf culture and modern punk, the collection speaks to the chiller in us all, and when I say chiller I really mean stay-at-home-surfer-stoner, but since we don’t live by the ocean in Melbourne like Vincent, I’m not quite sure it applies in the same way. Dean Cook, menswear buying manager at Browns said, “Browns is known for championing emerging designers and we’re really excited to be working with Lucas Vincent…There’s a new wave of Australian menswear brands that are really making their own mark and Ex Infinitas is a key part of this movement.” It’s available now – click below to start shopping…
