Prada Are Bringing Their Private Members Social Club to London’s Frieze Art Fair

Hold onto your seats – Frieze is coming. One of London’s most popular art fairs is just around the corner, and we’re not even finished with the shenanigans falling under the category of fashion month. So instead  of jumping from couture to canvas, we’re here to ease you into the world of turned-up noses of perfectly dressed art dealers (a solid mix of #OldCeline, #NewComme and #AllPrada) with the help of our favourite Italian lady.

Miuccia Prada is known for her great taste – both in arts and fashion – so it makes total sense for her to curate a members-only club accordingly. But forget about stuffy old buildings with strict dress codes – Prada Mode is a travelling social club with a focus on contemporary culture that provides its members a unique, Miuccia-approved arts experience enriched with music, dining and conversations. The first two stops on the tour were Art Basel fairs in Miami Beach and Hong Kong, with the third one coming to 180 The Strand on October 2nd, for two days only. Coinciding with this year’s Frieze London, the ever-evolving space of London Fashion Week’s hub will welcome the artsy bunch with a dynamic programme of exhibitions and events.

American artist Theaster Gates will present the new edition of his ongoing Black Image Corporation project, focusing on the evolution of contemporary representation of black identities in the media. Prada will also launch Collective Intimacy, a programme of live performances and talks curated in collaboration with The Vinyl Fact and The Showroom, both being trailblazing cultural hotspots in the capital. The panel discussions and screenings over the two days will involve designer Grace Wales Bonner, artist Phoebe Boswell and film director Larry Achiampong, to name but a few. All in all, it’s a pretty spectacular offering so… See you there? In case you’re “not on the list”, make sure to find your way to 180 The Strand on October 4th, when the installation and the space opens to public.

The Prada Mode social club will take place on October 2nd and 3rd at 180 The Strand, London, with the installation open to public on October 4th.
