Proenza Schouler Resort 2015 Collection Lazaro

Lazaro and Jack create amazing clothes. That much is obvious. Will and I know this first-hand, having tried on two of their extraordinary coats at the KCD A/W14 press day. We felt like princesses. Cosmopolitan princesses that is. Not the Beatrice and Eugenie type. For resort, the dynamic duo have once again created a collection this is forward-thinking and experimental and yet one that women (and Will and I of course) will want to wear. It’s tricky balance to temper but one that they have achieved effortlessly. This season the prints were inspired by the art of Abstract Expressionist painter Clyfford Still. Still’s jagged flashes of colour have been transferred onto boxy T-shirts, wrap dresses, straight-legged trousers and double-breasted coats. I particularly like the green-soled flats that make the wearer’s feet look like they’ve been lovingly bandaged up. And as if that wasn’t enough, Proenza Schouler have announced that this summer they are launching a swimwear collection consisting of bikinis, onepieces and pareos. Perfect for a spot of high-fashion-high-summer waterside frolicking, don’t you think?
