Ten Loves: Synaesthetic Exoticism By Vianney Le Caer
Took in some art last night (darling, you must) attending a special private view of the work of photographer Vianney Le Caer at Roland Mouret’s store in Mayfair. Vianney was first introduced into our world by the brilliant art dealer Jonathan Kugel (our man in the know when it comes to discovering London’s artistic vanguard) – Sophia becoming ob-sessed, in a very Sophia way, with Vianney’s photo series of male sunbathers, taken at Beirut Beach, Lebanon. So much so, that we featured those images in then magazine and made them available for purchase on our e-commerce baby, 10curates.com (plug). They are very very good.
This latest exhibition, Synaesthetic Exoticism, his first solo show in the UK, collects photographs from over the years and over the world – from Haiti to Morocco, capturing the very human lives of people caught in countries affected by war or disaster. They are brilliant, striking images from a talent very much on the rise.
