The 2015 Cfda Award Nominees

It’s nearly time for the CFDA Awards again – the fashion industry’s answer to the Oscar’s. Remember last year? There was Rihanna in that completely sheer dress and, wait, I can’t remember anything else. Rihanna’s breasts have erased everything else from my memory. Unfortunately Rihanna isn’t up for an award this year. But my second favourite thing in the world is: Instagram which is due to receive The Media Award in Honor of Eugenia Sheppard. Joseph Altuzarra, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Proenza’s Jack and Lazaro (autumn/winter 2015 collection pictured) and The Row’s Mary-Kate and Ashley are all up for Womenswear Designer of the Year. Talk about piping hot competition. The awards ceremony will be held in June – meaning that we’ve got three months to get down to Ladbrokes on Wardour Street and place our bets. Congratulations to all the nominees.

Accessories Designer of the Year nominees: Alexander Wang, Tabitha Simmons, Mary-Kate Olsen & Ashley Olsen of The Row, Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler and Irene Neuwirth.

Swarovski Award for Womenswear nominees: Rosie Assoulin, Dao-Yi Chow & Maxwell Osborne of Public School and Ryan Roche.

Swarovski Award for Menswear nominees: Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air, Alex Orley, Matthew Orley & Samantha Orley of Orley, Shimon Ovadia & Ariel Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons.

Swarovski Award for Accessory Design nominees: Paul Andrew, Eva Zuckerman of Eva Fehren, Rachel Mansur & Floriana Gavriel of Mansur Gavriel.

Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award: Betsey Johnson

International Award: Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli of Valentino
