V&A To Stage ‘Christian Dior: Designer Of Dreams’ Exhibition
Good things come to those who wait but we aren’t in a patient phase, so it’s a good thing that largest ever Christian Dior exhibition in the UK is coming to the V&A early next year. The exhibition titled, ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams’ is straight out of our Dior dreams and also the museum’s biggest fashion exhibition since Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty in 2015. Therefore it will be epic. Obvs. In a serious plot twist, the exhibition will explore the designer’s fascination with British culture, including the Dior dress worn by Princess Margaret for her 21st birthday. Girl had style. There will also be a whole lot of Couture, accessories, fragrances, horticulture and a full Dior hall of fame looking back at each artistic director’s vision for the House. Christian Dior did once say: “There is no other country in the world, besides my own, whose way of life I like so much. I love English traditions, English politeness, English architecture. I even love English cooking.” And we love him and the Dior way of life. Fast forward us into the world of Dior, darlings.
