Wales Bonner Wins This Year’s LVMH Prize
Much felicitations are directed from Ten Towers towards menswear designer Miss Grace Wales Bonner, whose eponymous brand, Wales Bonner, has been announced as the winner of this year’s LVMH Prize today. Which means, not only will the designer, who shall henceforth be known as genius award-winning designer, benefit from the fabulous mentoring abilities of LVMH and their crack team, but also pocket 300,000 Euros to invest in the future. Many big things are sure to follow. We await with baited breath. Grace beat out seven other finalists, and over 1000 designers who applied, to take the prize, selected by a panel including Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquière, Phoebe Philo, Riccardo Tisci, Jonathan Anderson, Humberto Leon, Carol Lim amongst a selection of people from LVMH. Phew. The special jury prize went to Vejas Kruszewski, Canadian designer, who won 150,000 euros and a year of coaching. Not bad. Congratulations to both!
