If you’re anything like us, you’re all Christmas Market-ed out. You’ve bought all your trinkets, you’ve drunk too much-mulled wine and frankly, if you eat another chocolate smothered churro, you’ll turn into a giant one by the time December 25th rolls around. Before another holiday season passes by, you’re probably looking for a Christmas Market experience with a little extra oomph.
Thankfully, the capital’s kookiest Crimbo market is back, back, back again for a second round of festive shenanigans. Launched by the masterminds behind the Anal House Meltdown club night, XTrade will see a gaggle of East London’s finest exports flogging artworks, design work and fabulous fashions. This year’s lovely list of contributors include Per Göttesson, Louise Gray, Scott Ramsay Kyle and Princess Julia – the latter even holding tarot readings in a disabled toilet at last year’s XTrade debut. Held this weekend at the Bistrotheque, this pop-up market is crazy, hot and bubbling with all sorts of debauchery. Think Winter Wonderland, but a little hornier. What’s our safe word? “A double gin and tonic please, but hold off on the tonic.”
