Maison Alaïa To Continue With A Celebration Of Azzedine’s Legacy

The long, important legacy of Azzedine Alaïa and the Maison that bears his name is set to continue, as news reaches us this morning that the Alaïa studio will present the next ready-to-wear and accessory collections in January and March of next year. But that’s not all – alongside this news, the house have announced a tribute exhibition of Alaïa’s era-defining creations, curated by Olivier Saillard, that will be held at 18 rue de la Verriere in Paris during Haute Couture week. As well as this exhibition, as announced last week, a retrospective of his work will come to London’s Design Museum, entitled “The Couturier.” The team at the house quoted Azzedine himself in the statement this morning “my obsession is to make women beautiful. When you create with that in mind, things can’t go out of fashion.” That is the spirit with which the house will continue the designer’s incredible legacy. We look forward to celebrating Azzedine’s life alongside the people who made him the happiest – his collaborators, the atelier, the entire Alaïa family. Long may his spirit continue.
