Ten Loves: Alexander McQueen The Story Bag

In case you haven’t noticed, our friends at Alexander McQueen are working really hard right now. In less than two weeks, they have released their Pre-Spring 2020 collection, opened an archive exhibition dedicated to flowers and had their creative director Sarah Burton titled as a Trailblazer laureate at the Fashion Awards. And no, apparently that’s not it – after being carried around by just about every celeb (Kaia Gerber included!) their newest bag dropped into stores worldwide. As one of the three new handbag families to be presented as part of the Pre-Spring 2020 collection, it’s called The Story and yes, it indeed has a story. Dedicated to narratives that are at the heart of Alexander McQueen as a fashion house, it’s a bag that combines simplistic elements in a highly refined way. The lines are classic – reminiscent of a bag you might find in your grandma’s closet, preserved in its original form because it was only taken out on special occasions.

In Burton’s interpretation, The Story is not just an evening bag – even though the signature McQueen jewellery-like handle might suggest it. You can carry it any way you want – as a clutch, cross-body, or hand-held by the top handle. The story is available in a range of four colours – hot fuchsia, red, black and military green, with the colourway lifted from the floral-inspired season the brand is currently living in. So, what’s your Story?

Alexander McQueen’s The Story bag is available to shop online and in selected stores.
