Anna Sui got her cowgirl on for Spring 2017. Total Western blues. But first things first. Gigi Hadid opened the show. In fringing and a cowboy (girl) hat. Yee-ha. So what else? There was lots of leather with appliquéd roses, embroidered satin jackets and floral patterned chiffon thrown in. Varsity jackets, too. A bit fifties. Boys with long hair and bandanas mingled with girls in tiered jacquard slip dresses. It was that whimsical (and a little bit mad) dress up excitement we expect from Anna Sui. And the boots. As Jessica Simpson (and some other people) once sang: those cowboy boots were made for walking and that’s just what they did. It was like a themed party. And who better to throw a party than Miss Sui?
