BOSS: Ready-to-wear AW16
Jason Wu, Boss’ artistic director and the man responsible for the brand’s upward trajectory (and red carpet visibility) of late was obsessed with two things this season: swerving lines, and surfaces. There was lots of other ideas in his Boss collection – sharp tailoring, lovely florals, a zingy palette of green, cinnamon and hot pink – but it was the cloth and the curves that stuck with you. The curves were sliced into that tailoring, softening a few of the signature strict Boss lines, slouching trousers and giving jackets an energetic swing, while the surfaces dazzled throughout – embroidered, needle-punched, fils coupe-d (is that even a word?) and then re-appliqued (that is). Mind boggling stuff. Also mouth watering. We want it all.
