Calvin Klein: Ready-to-wear AW16
How do you make minimalism not-quite-so-minimal? It’s a challenge Francisco Costa has been setting himself for a decade at Calvin Klein Collection, where the impulse is always to pare back but where innovative technologies and crafts come to the fore to give the clothes an added zing and desirability factor. This time, he thought crystal – not Carrington (although KC is almost CK) but rather the healing, holistic kind, inserting slices of agate into cut-outs on strict, signature little black dresses. The colours of agate also infused the collection: muted greys, black, a deep purple. Even the blown-up animal print wound up looking a bit mineralised. Stone-cold chic, this lot.
