Elie Saab: Couture AW18

If you are a woman in need of a big dress, call Elie Saab. The Lebanese couturier specialises in red carpet gowns and wedding dresses for international royals. His catwalk is lined with bejewelled clients, who shop directly from the catwalk (a haute version of see-now-buy-now). Who will be the first to debut a lean little tuxedo trouser, worn under a full ball skirt? Who will dance the night away in a rose lace gown, cut short at the front to show off expensively gym honed legs? Who will get married in a crystal encrusted rose pink princess dress with a 10m veil and a dancing mantilla? It’s a game of dress-upmanship for this glossy posse who are prepared to pay extra to secure a world-wide exclusive on their favourite gown. Some things are worth fighting for.
