Giambattista Valli: Ready-to-wear SS17
Girls were served smoking hot and fresh out of Giambattista Valli’s kitchen today in a flirty array of wears, sometimes barely wearing any wears at all. It was this genius showing of skin that worked to perfectly balance and modernise ideas that might have previously made a fashionable female of today a little nervous – billowing sleeves, cascading ruffles and classic florid prints were given a fresh start. It was subtly evocative – the designer played with lingerie by bringing it to the forefront of looks, and head to toe dresses were made ultra sheer, revealing just enough. A red lip here and there further hinted at the underlying allure throughout the collection, along with hair ever so slightly out of place. As if roughed up in a hay bail or something. New trends teamed with trusted silhouettes and classic femininity make the ultimate flattering, wearable wardrobe. You can’t go wrong. These are clothes that are going to make a lot of ladies very happy.
