Givenchy: Ready-to-wear SS17

What better way to spend a Sunday evening than enjoying the latest fashions from the house of Givenchy? Beats watching Corrie. This was, as you may have seen, an outdoor show, which meant it was best accessorised with a large foil blanket, dolled out by Givenchy people pre l-show. Tres chic! So, the collection. Now, this was very reiki. As in, that thing were people lob crystals around their room and upon their person in hope of changing your universal life energy. Very that. Mainly because of those necklaces – whopper bits of amethyst that clunked around the models necks, the same designs printed on to slinky slip dresses. Quite fitting, really, considering the location of the show – we were at Paris’ Museum of Mineralogy. Fashion with added healing propoerties. There was a bit of a femme/masc feeling to this – sharp black tailoring sat next to curve-skimming layered dresses in pink or nude, strappy red stilettos were contrasted with sensible ankle socks. And the hair – super slicked. These ladies meant business. There was also, as Riccardo has always been so good at, a riot of print – stripes, dots, Seventies wallpaper prints. Sounds wrong, looks right. And all accessorised with some nice big pointed collars and a sprinkle of ruffles. Lovely. So that’s all from us tonight Tenners – a suitably fabulous ending to a day veritably wedged full of fashions. Over and out.
