House of Holland: Ready-to-Wear SS19
Henry Holland doesn’t imagine some world far away, where skies are blue and lands are covered in flowers. The House of Holland is actually just down the street from yours. The girls living there are young professionals on the go, without a moment to spare, only people to see, places to be and things to do. Taking cues from the women of the morning commute, Henry’s vision for SS19 was all about the practicality of everyday clothes. This is the exact opposite of occasion dressing – this lady wears her tiered skirt with a hoodie to the gym and layers a swimsuit under a midi skirt covered in multicoloured crystals for a night out.
A hot neon punch opened the show – an orange double-breasted suit with shorts, setting us up for an explosion of colourful ready-to-wear clothes. A sweaty tube ride never looked more appealing. Without a single pair of heels in sight, and layers of fabulous clothes on display, it was about being a successful woman on a mission. With a great sense of humour and an easy-going approach to life, the House of Holland gal is the person we’d made friends with at 8.30am on our way to Ten Towers.
