J JS Lee: Ready-to-wear SS17

Remember sugar paper? As in, not something you can eat, but those big rolls of coloured paper that you used to make displays at school? Well, anyway, the walls of Korean-born J JS Lee’s presentation yesterday were lined with the stuff. And there was something a little school-ish about this. But, like, a school in the far and distant future. Collared shirts tucked into skirts, geometric, mathematical prints, sharp tailored trousers. But then, atop, floating sheer layers, that sort of warped the more classic shapes underneath, making the silhouette something altogether more modern. Oh, and there was a nice (what we can only describe as a) spinny-round catwalk thing. Like a conveyor belt of models. Lovely.
