Jil Sander: Ready-To-Wear AW19

Some people are sun seekers, others are thrill seekers, but the Jil Sander woman is a serenity seeker. She’s happiest in a divinely cut white shirt dress with a pair of swallows etched on the back. Lucie and Luke Meier’s played with masculine and feminine. Hourglass dresses were worn over trousers were just one useful styling idea.  They reinvented the trouser suit as an oversized wool workwear shirt and matching slacks and brought a fresh cool take to the co-ord (every busy woman’s fashion best friend) putting a marigold yellow chenille knit which was slashed to the hip, over matching bell bottoms. It felt real  – like the true essence of ready to wear. This Jil Sander collection could have walked off the catwalk and straight into the life of a busy gallerist or creative executive.
