Joseph: Ready-to-wear SS17

She’s a nomad this season, the Joseph woman. Trekking down that long runway, everything she owns on her back. To quote from the press release this is a “personal uniform for the Joseph tribe as it travels across the urban scene”. Think of this as a twist on the classic Joseph collection. All the hallmarks are there. The trench, the knit, masculine shirting and loose tracksuit bottoms but this time they’ve been layered, en masse, atop of one another to create an exaggerated silhouette. Proportions are overblown, cinched in at waists, rolled up at cuffs to create shape, an illusion of structure. Bright anoraks hang diagonally off the torso creating a ruffle type effect over shirting and loose hand knits. Raffia tufts, almost pom pom like, sprout from hems and add an almost joyous, celebratory note to the collection as a whole. A sort of celebration of travel, on foot, if you will.
