Mary Katrantzou may have majorly diversified her outlook in recent seasons, but her new adidas by Mary Katrantzou collection proves she’s still the reigning ‘Queen of Print.’ Rummaging through the brands archives, and finding plenty to draw on (especially around the 1980s mark by the looks of things), Katrantzou has re-contextualized sportswear detailing to create a range of boldly feminine designs. Most significantly the famous three stripe signature twists and wraps around ensembles to create a strong and sexy hourglass emphasis. The techy, digital savvy side of Katrantzou’s work has also come to life more boldly than ever before, in a range of footwear options which push at the parameters of adidas’s engineering capabilities. Wildly contrasting colours and textures, result in options which you wouldn’t dare shove in your bag on arriving at work, or ever sport down the gym. The kind of stuff sneaker-freaks will want to wrap in cotton wool. Available in stores from November.
