Oscar de la Renta: Ready-To-Wear SS19
Club tropicana, drinks are free. Or so it seemed at the Oscar de la Renta SS19 show where Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia created a beachy, tropical party on the New York Fashion Week catwalk – parrot clutches included. This season, it was all about the prints – some seemed vintage, others completely contemporary, some embroidered, others digital. Yet all of them painted a cohesive picture of a hot summer day somewhere far, far away. Fringed Stevie Nicks scarves became dressed and skirts, getting the girls ready to jump into a samba roll anytime they wanted. And after the samba on the beach, they jump into one of the embellished feather gowns, still salty from the sea, and proceed to the ballroom. Oh, those Oscar girls… Everyone from Bella Hadid opening to Gigi Hadid closing the show, the models gave these dancing clothes a sense of rhythm and life, making us google the closest Tiki bar and eager to get our hands on some next season Oscar. For now, we’ll just have to settle with an ice-cold Margarita. Or 2.
