Ralph Lauren: Ready-to-wear AW16

Ralph Lauren brought in Stefan Larsson as CEO in November last year. The I’m? Give the label’s namesake time to focus on the design stuff, without worrying about the considerable day-to-day running of his global multi-billion behemoth. hence the fact the autumn/winter 2016 Ralph Lauren collection felt like both a comprehensive working-through of a multitude of ideas, and also a return to a Ralph of old. Lauren has always loved Britishness, in its multiple facets – and there was something decidedly english about his offering this time, the puritan high pie-crust collars, the Saville Row suiting with knotted ties, and the sweeping patchwork in muted tartans. A bit more Scottish than English that – Lauren with a sporran. Och aye lassie.
