Simone Rocha: Ready-to-Wear SS19
Simone Rocha is one of those designers whose collections we get excited about seeing each season, no matter what else is happening on the schedule. In only eight years of running her brand, Simone succeeded in creating the kind of enthusiasm surrounding her brand that’s beyond hype. It’s all about those dedicated fans – or as the kids nowadays like to call them stans – buying all those beaded earrings, furry shoes and piles of poofy, ruffled taffeta dresses. And it seems like this new collection was made for all those super fans. Everything we know and love about Simone Rocha was on the catwalk. And then some.
Set in the old St. James’ palace of Lancaster House, the SS19 show marks the first time Simone explored her Chinese heritage. Looking at the images of royals dating back to the Tang dynasty and getting inspired by their most fabulous fashions, it was all about the classic Rocha dresses executed in eye-catching colours accessorised with some of the best details we’ve seen all week. Think tall-sitting laced hats covered in petals, overlaid with a black veils, pearly & crystal headbands and monochrome feathered sandals. It was perfectly styled, in celebration of that signature Simone Rocha full look that’s wearable enough to make the streets. And those streets are the ones we want to walk down too.
