Team Ten’s Fantasy Working From Home Wardrobe

We don’t know about you, but we aren’t half tired of sitting around in our comfy clothes all day, every day. Trackies stained with tomato sauce, hoodies that smell a bit funky, even sporting the same pyjama top for days on end. We are well and truly missing the ritual of getting a tad dolled up each day before work, so we thought we’d kick start the week by mapping out our dream looks, pulled straight from the SS/AW20 collections, that would spruce up our working from home wardrobes quite a bit. Think of this as the Ten Towers fantasy fashion league…

PHOEBE BRIGGS, Editorial Director

“Can I please have this from Noir Kei Ninomiya? It’s bloody freezing in my kitchen ‘office’ so it should keep me warm. Plus, I wouldn’t need to do my hair and makeup only on one side of the face. Also, it’s a very forgiving silhouette after all the WFH snacks…”

GARTH SPENCER, Executive Fashion Director

“I would go for this yellow raincoat look from John Galliano at Margiela. It’s perfect being the center of attention look in the Houseparty App. Practically, it’s the best thing for British springtime on the bike.”

CLAUDIA CROFT, Deputy Editor & Fashion Features Director

“Jog on, joggers. At this stage in lockdown we need glamour, grandeur and high fashion fantasy. Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Louis Vuitton latex flounced petticoats should lift the mood. Paco Rabanne’s full chainmail has an appealing warrior-like fierceness. Or what about one of Christopher John Rogers bombastic ballgowns? Teeny tiny Houseparty squares be damned. I will not be defined by you!”

DINO BONACIC, Online Editor

“To be honest, I’d love to spend all of quarantine time naked sunbathing on a balcony, but since I don’t have a balcony… I think I’d go naked anyway but cover up for FaceTime meetings in this oversized, fuzzy and shockingly pink Marni jumper from AW20. It will probably feel super itchy with nothing underneath but when did comfort ever matter?”

KATHERINE JENKINS, Deputy Art Director

“*Makes dramatic entrance from the kitchen to the living room in this Roksanda look.*”

HELENA FLETCHER, Fashion and Features Assistant

“Whilst doing my GCSEs I found that the only way I could get into the working mindset and get any revision done was by wearing my school uniform. Strangely it worked (definitely a sort of placebo effect). So I did the same for my A-Levels and even wore a shirt and a skirt when sitting my finals at university. To reach peak productivity I‘d have to choose something uniform-like and who does it better than Thom Browne? Plus the wooly socks will be a godsend in my house’s near-Arctic conditions.”

PAUL TONER, Editorial Assistant

“If I could pick one look, it would have to be the tent-like, part installation, part clothes airer number that closed out the lastest Craig Green show. Why you ask? Well, how could I possibly sit at my desk and do any work through this thing? Looks like I’ll just have to spend the rest of lockdown lounged on my bed, doing nothing. How unfortunate…”
