Pierpaolo Piccioli and Craig Green Join Forces on Valentino Garavani Rockstud X

As Valentino celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Valentino Garavani Rockstud collections, we can’t help but throw on THAT catsuit and utter the phrase “tell me about it, stud.” Since their launch in 2010, Valentino’s Rockstud heels sell out every season, and this year’s anniversary collection will be no different. The collection “embodies a recognisable sign of the contemporary Valentino,” and with the tumultuous year we’ve had, a bit of strength and resilience is more than needed.

A true staple in the Valentino design lexicon, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli uses the stud to continue resignifying “iconic codes of the Maison, where reality and dream, high and low, punk and bourgeois, couture and street cohabit.”

The anniversary project will see the fashion Maison collaborate with a host of guest designers – with British menswear talent, Craig Green, being the up first. After Piccioli himself reimagined the stud into a “macro version” of the original, a collaboration with Green is set to evolve the staple silhouette to a new, exciting direction. As the press release explains, “the project reflects the values of identity, inclusivity and community,” and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’re made of with some killer, studded, Valentino accessories.
