New York label Vaquera is bringing its unshakable Gen Z attitude to a new collection that is doused with silver sequins, coated in neon green lace and packed with plenty of latex. Sounds like our sort of party.
The youthful label, headed by Claire Sullivan and Bryn Taubense, celebrates the eccentric and unexpected with extravagant fabrics, oversized cuts and whimsical graphics. The SS22 offering IS made up of 38 looks. Long sequin dresses clung to oversized white t-shirts are presented alongside denim Bermuda shorts paired with spiky bralettes and ruffled over-the-shoulder banners that are both bold and brash. Models sped walked across the catwalk wearing fringed cardigans, skirts and dresses – their breasts covered with duct tape.
Continuing on with its recognised fabric innovation, Vaquera has presented one of its most eye-catching creations thus far. The label has utilised sticky black latex to envision ruffled dresses that have ballooned sleeves and floor-skimming hemlines – bringing sexiness and androgyny to the forefront.
